Temptresses go on thieving spree

A group of Dublin students who invited two 'temptresses' back to their New Year's Eve party woke up the next morning to find they had got more than they bargained for.

The two women did an overnight flit - and took with them a haul that included the students' mobile phones, iPods and digital cameras. "Everyone would have known every single person but one of the lads brought these two hos back to the party. One of them must have gone from room to room while we were asleep, taking everything she could find," said one of the group.

The 25-strong group had been enjoying the New Year's Eve festivities at local pubs in the Co Clare seaside resort town of Kilkee. It was here that one of the male partygoers met two young women.

While one of the women celebrated in the designated 'party house', the other stole an estimated 1,000 worth of property from the 'sleeping house'. She also took cash from depleted wallets and expensive make-up kits.

"When we woke up in the morning, everyone was asking 'Where's my phone?'".

However, one of the women left her jacket behind - with a stolen digital camera in the pocket - and both had been captured on video by one of the partygoers.

The students reported the robbery to gardai in Kilkee and were able to identify the women after being shown a selection of photos.
The two are well known to the gardai in the area for prostitution and are thought to be the main of cause of an outbreak of "the clap" in the area late last year.

The two were subsequently arrested but no charges have been made so far.
